007 Bungee Jump

Also in May, a couple of weeks before our family arrived, we traveled to Switzerland for Dustin and some friends to do the Goldeneye Bungee Jump off the side of the Verzasca Dam. It was a late birthday gift for Dustin and Todd whose birthdays are in April. They were totally stoked while I was completely freaked out and figured that they were going to die. I mean its only a 220 meter fall...that's 721.8 feet for crying out loud! And it is the 2nd highest fixed bungee jump in the world!

I heart vacations!

In May, Dustin's family came to visit for a couple of weeks. While they were here we went to Slovenia to visit a cave, Cortina, Amalfi coast, Pompei, and Rome. We had so much fun together sightseeing, eating and shopping. Wish we could do it all over again!

Eating yummy food at our house in Roveredo. My Italian friends made us gnoochi, arrancini, lasagne, and melanzane parmigiana. It was the BEST meal we had.

Last bit of April

April went by way too fast!
On the 29th, we had a great opportunity to work with a friend who was here for just a few weeks and was willing to take our pictures. I LOVE how they turned out and that we will have memories of Italy and Roveredo preserved in professional pics.

In other news.... We finally found out on April 27th where our next assignment will be...

Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri!
Not exactly what we had in mind, but we are getting used to the idea :)

Going ons....

I have been absent from this blog for awhile. And to be honest I actually started to avoid it because I knew how far behind I was and didn't want to face it. But here are some things that have been going on around these parts:

1) We went to Carnivale in Venezia in February

2) I went to Padua in March on a school trip. It is home of one of the first University's in the world and had a medical school which performed the first autopsies. They actually had to hide the bodies under a false floor when the Catholic church visited because the church did not allow for bodies to be tampered with.

(Oh, and I fed the pigeons.)

3) We spent our last Sunday at the old church on the 25th of March and moved into our new building this Sunday (8th). (Everyone else had their last Sunday on Easter but we were not there.) Also, Dustin passed the sacrament for the first time the first Sunday we were in the building! It was so awesome!

4) Dustin turned 30 on April 1st (Holy cow! Time has sure gone by!)

5)Brett & Kellie came to visit on that same day. We went to Venice and Verona and had so much fun with them! I was sad to see them leave.

5) We spent Easter in Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia and made a pit-stop in Bihac, Bosnia.
The National Park contains 16 lakes that flow from one to another via waterfalls. It is so beautiful!

It was weird to see a mosque instead of a Catholic church.

The outsides of almost all of the buildings in the city were full of bullet holes.

7) And last but not least...the list of available jobs for our next base came out this week and so we are now just waiting for orders. We are hoping by the end of the month we will know where we are headed next!
